Interpretation

The Bog hexagram consists of the upper trigram Kun (Earth) and the lower trigram Zhen (Thunder). Kun represents the Earth, and Zhen represents Thunder. The image of the Bog hexagram is thunder beneath the earth. When the weather is cold, thunder resides beneath the earth. This suggests that thunder has returned to its original place. Bog means to return or to come back.

In the hexagram, the upper trigram represents the Earth, and the lower trigram represents Thunder. The image shows thunder rising from beneath the earth, symbolizing the gradual return of strength or energy. Thunder, when it resurfaces, represents the return of action and energy after a period of dormancy.

The hexagram suggests that things which go to extremes eventually return to their origin. The natural cycle of the heavens and earth operates in repetition, and everything that reaches its peak will eventually return. The hexagram emphasizes that, like the rising thunder, you will find your way back, and it is favorable to go in the right direction.

For someone receiving this hexagram, it indicates that now is the time to gradually unfold your intentions and prepare with patience. Thunder rising from beneath the earth suggests the beginning of a new cycle, like the arrival of spring or a new morning. However, it is still early in the cycle, and the time is not yet ripe, so hasty actions should be avoided.

Patience is required while waiting for the proper timing. If you plan thoroughly and proceed step by step, success will follow. Everything that has been blocked will now open up, and help or support will come. Wealth and success will arrive, making it a favorable time to pursue your endeavors. Therefore, the time for action has come, but it must be approached carefully, with full preparation, and in accordance with the right timing.
